This is the true story of George Phillips of Meridian, Mississippi, who was about to go upstairs to bed when his wife yelled
down to him that the light was on in the garden shed, which she could see from their bedroom window. George looked out the
back door and saw that there were some guys in the shed in the process of stealing things.
He immediately phoned 911 and explained the situation. The 911 operator said that no patrols were available so
he should stay inside, lock his door and an officer would come by later in the evening.
George said, "Okay," hung up, waited 90 seconds and phoned the police again.
"Hello I just called you a few seconds ago because there were guys stealing things from my shed. Well, you don't have to
worry about them now cause I've just shot them all." Then he hung up.
Within five minutes three squad cars and an Armed Response unit arrived at the Phillips' residence. The police caught
the burglars red-handed.
One of the policemen asked George: "I thought you said that you'd shot them?"
George said, "I thought you said nobody was available!"
